At Riffelalp Resort 2'222m, family comes first. High above daily life and its many distractions, you’re free to make memories together. From creative spaces for our youngest guests to recommending shared adventures for every generation, we want to make sure kids feel forever inspired and enchanted by our elevated retreat.

Kindergarten and babysitting

For our littlest guests

During the winter season, our kindergarten welcomes children aged 2-8 from Sunday to Friday. Supervised by our caring teacher, this is a fun-only space where kids can paint, play and make new friends.

In summer, the kindergarten space is still open for family use, but supervised childcare is not available. Please note children must be potty trained to participate in the kindergarten.

If you need a babysitter during your stay, we can arrange this for you on request (we recommend booking early) at a minimum charge of CHF 35 per hour, billed to your room.

Indoor-outdoor fun

Play areas

There are adventures aplenty in and around Riffelalp Resort 2'222m for older kids, too. In the games room they’ll find tabletop football, table tennis and games consoles for some friendly rivalry. And you're always welcome to team up as a family in the billiards room or bowling alley for some spirited competition.

Outside, our playground has a slide, swings, trampoline and climbing frame available in summer – just what’s needed to burn off excess energy with the Matterhorn on the horizon.

Child-friendly facilities

A warm welcome

At Riffelalp Resort 2'222m, we believe kids should feel as welcome here as their parents. Children under the age of eight travel for free on all mountain cableways and the Gornergrat Railways.

At dinner, we reserve a special table in Restaurant Alexandre for our youngest guests to dine together at 6:15 p.m. in winter.

Children are also welcome to use the pool, though non-swimmers must be supervised by a parent as there’s no lifeguard on site. Please note that the wellness area is reserved exclusively for adults.

Winter and summer activities

Adventures, anytime

Kids can get stuck into a range of fun outdoor activities and excursions at Riffelalp Resort 2'222m– no matter what time of year they arrive.

In winter, rent sledges for your children from our on-site ski shop. Or, speak to the concierge, who can arrange Snow League, kids’ skiing classes or private ski instruction.

In summer, our team will be delighted to recommend a family-friendly programme, whether that’s kickbiking from Sunnegga, an excursion to the Gorner Gorge or ziplining through the trees at Zermatt Forest Fun Park.
