Step into snow-dusted scenery and experience Riffelalp Resort 2'222m at its most pristine. Join our resident mountain guide to explore the surrounding mountains, and ski, snowboard, sledge or hike through powder-soft silence. Afterwards, retreat to our cosy surroundings to soothe tired muscles in the spa, savour a glass of wine by the fire or enjoy a game of billiards. There's no hurry.

High summer

Endless days

As the snow on the mountainsides melts to reveal green pastures and the skies brighten overhead, a summer playground emerges. Lace up your hiking boots and join our guide to ascend a 4000-metre peak (included in your stay!) or set out by bike to explore one of the many trails that carves through the alpine terrain. For the more adventurous, there’s rock climbing, the waterfalls and rock formations of the Gorner Gorge and even summer skiing.

At our altitude of 2'222m, the Matterhorn is never far away. From the breakfast table in Restaurant Alexandre, from our outdoor spa pool, from our bar terrace and from many of our rooms, you can watch its slopes and shadows shift with the changing light. Ride the Gornergrat railway higher still to experience views across 29 four-thousand-metre peaks, or hike to alpine lakes where you can contemplate the stillness of the mountain’s reflection. Few places in the world bring you closer to the majesty of the mountains.

Zermatt

A change of pace

Linked by the scenic Gornergrat Railway, the car-free village of Zermatt offers a lively counterpoint to life at altitude. Browse designer boutiques, invest in technical gear for mountain adventures or fill your bags with Swiss chocolate. Visit the Matterhorn Museum if you want to learn more about Zermatt’s mountaineering heritage, or sip cocktails in one of its bars. Just remember - the last train back departs at 11:30 p.m. sharp!
